Ribby Hall Spa Day

Ribby Hall Day Spa, Aqua Thermal Journey Package, £39

On Thursday I headed to Ribby Hall to enjoy the luxury of their day spa. I went with
my Mum as a Mother's Day treat, and it really was a treat!
When booking our spa day we decided to opt for the Aqua Thermal Journey package as
we had heard really good reviews of this experience.

On arrival at the Ribby Hall Spa we were greeted by the friendly therapists who lead us
into the changing rooms and handed us our soft, fluffy robes. I found this really exciting
as, although I have had plenty of spa treatments, I have never wandered round a spa hotel
in a robe. After checking in we then headed to The Brasserie where we were treated to a three
course lunch and a lovely glass of wine. Once we had been well and truly wined and dined we
changed into our swimming costumes, robes and slippers and began our Aqua Thermal
Journey. The journey involved a series of saunas & steam rooms including the Aroma Room
and the Balinese Salt Inhalation Room. The series of temperatures we endured during the
journey allowed for maximum detoxification and seriously relaxed the muscles.

My favourite part of the day was the outdoor jacuzzi as it was located in the middle of a
woodland and it was amazing feeling the cool air against my face whilst my body was
submerged in the warm, bubbling water. After spending a good few hours completely relaxing
in the spa we then headed to the showers which were filled with Elemis products from their
'Revitalise Me' range.

I left the spa feeling both refreshed and invigorated and now I'm counting down the days
until I can return to Ribby Hall.

Lush Roots Hair Treatment

Roots Hair Treatment, Lush, £9.95 for 225g

When it comes to length my hair seems to be in no rush to grow. That is however,
until I started working for Lush and began using their hair care. I knew that my scalp
seriously loved nettle and peppermint oils as I had seen great results with the New shampoo
bar and Rehab liquid shampoo (also from Lush). So when they released Roots back in
2012 I knew I was going to fall in love.

This hair treatment smells so minty fresh it tingles the nostrils. It is best used straight onto
dry hair and massaged into the scalp and roots. Some people use this mask only on the roots
but I like to apply it all over the hair as it gives great shine. I leave it on for at least 15 mins,
but really the longer the better with this mask as it is all natural and won't damage the hair
follicle. Then I just jump in the shower and shampoo and condition as normal, simple!
While the mask is on you can really feel the peppermint oil getting to work and stimulating the
scalp. This in turn increases the blood  flow in the scalp which encourages the hair to grow.

I've honestly never had better hair than after I have used this treatment. The olive oil and honey
inside roots soften the hair as well as giving it a much needed lift.Using Roots once every two
weeks I have seen great results in both the length and condition of my hair, and this is very
much a 'must have' product of mine.

Long live Roots!

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask

Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, Origins, £22 for 100ml

When it comes to skincare I believe in using products which are as natural as possible.
For this reason Origins are one of the few brands I incorporate into my skincare regime.
A few months back I visited the Origins counter at Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar, Liverpool,
and was given this generous sample size of Drink Up with my purchase.
As I generally have an oily/combination complexion I was really nervous about giving
this mask a try as I would usually avoid anything that can be described as 'super hydrating'.
However, when I did try the Drink Up mask I was completely blown away!

When using this product I first make sure I have removed all of my make up with an oil
based cleanser. I will then use a fresh toner water to ensure there is no excess dirt or oil sitting
on the skin before applying the mask. Although it is a mask, the consistency of Drink Up
actually feels more like a moisturiser. I apply a very small amount of product, roughly
around the size shown in the above image, all over the face. I then sit back, relax
and let the beautiful ingredients work their magic whilst I sleep. When I wake up the next
day my skin feels smooth and rejuvenated.

Avocado butter and apricot kernel oil are used in this overnight mask as they deeply
hydrate the skin. Origins also use Japanese seaweed to repair the skin's barrier
and 'prevent future dehydration and signs of premature ageing'. Not bad eh?
I currently use this miracle working mask once every two weeks, but for those with
dry skin I would recommend using Drink Up once a week (if not twice).

As well as being a great skincare product this mask smells absolutely amazing!
It's like a fresh, tropical juice for your face.
Pop down to your nearest Origins counter and ask for a sample of
the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. You won't be dissapointed!

Illamasqua Hyrda Veil

Hydra Veil, Illamasqua, £27

Illamasqua are a company that have a very special place in my heart. They are daring, bold and
embrace women's flaws and imperfections
When they released Hyrda Veil back in June, 2013 I was eager to give it a go as the product was unlike
any I had ever seen before. Illamasqua describe Hydra Veil as being a 'cosmetic-care product'.
But what is cosmetic care? Well I guess it is a product that helps give both your skin and make up
a lasting and gorgeous finish.

When you first open a pot of Hyrda Veil it looks completely smooth and almost like a runny liquid,
but to the touch it has more of a thick, jelly consistency. A 5p sized blob of Hydra Veil is more
than enough to cover the whole face, which means that this 30ml pot actually lasts for quite a long time.

For me this re-hydrating gel works great as a base for my foundation, although Illamasqua
make it clear that this is not a primer. Hydra Veil is not necessarily a skin care product but as it contains
glycerin it does have some lovely softening properties. The hydrating aspect of this product
helps to smooth the skins appearance and allows foundation to glide on.
I have had this product for around 6 months now and, although it is not one of my every day
products, I still have plenty left. When going on a night out or to a special event I always make
sure I pop Hydra Veil on after my moisturiser and before my foundation as it has serious lasting
power. Will I be repurchasing? Absolutely! But only once the pot has finally ran out.
